It was a while back but I remember it well, fighting those negative emotions…it had been one of those days! Well, actually over a few–and I just needed to stop and remind myself of this truth…just how much I am loved by God.

I don’t like to slip into the “feelings” mode (where they control my output); I don’t like being teary-eyed; I especially don’t like to “feel sorry for myself”. However, now and again I slip into that dark place. Because I have let my focus dwell on ‘woe is me!’

Then I remembered that this is when I just have to lean in on His promises! After all His promises to me, are “Yes and Amen”.

I have been emotionally sabotaged!

Sabotage…
verb: deliberately destroy, damage or obstruct (something)

synonyms: wrecking, deliberate damage, destruction, obstruction, disruption, crippling, impairment, incapacitation…

There is a Way Out…

Enough already! Because, this is just destructive and although the fallout definitely affects others, it destroys me emotionally. Then I truly feel as if I’ve been set back years!

However, I have learned how to make a turnaround. When I finally get tired of drying my eyes and focusing on my circumstances, it is here that I call on my go-to love verses from my Father. Like the one, I posted one morning on psalmfm.org’s facebook page…

Psalm 103:8

“The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.”

You see, this is who He is! And I can run to Him, and be comforted by Him because He understands me as no one else can!

Sometimes You just have to Speak Truth to  Yourself…

I happened to listen to this song by Danny Gokey along with the backstory of “Tell Your Heart to Beat Again“. Through this story, I gained a sense of hope once again. I knew I was going to be alright. After listening, I felt I could breathe a sigh of relief. I had been heard by my Father, and He comforted me through Danny’s message.

How is it for you today?

So let me ask you…will you tell your heart some promises from your Father? After all, you were created in His image to be a very special person in this world for this very time.

God has created you to share His light through your brokenness and hard times. Let the joy of knowing Him, give you strength to speak life into your heart so that it will beat once again.

You are His! He is counting on you to step into your God-breathed destiny as one of His precious possessions. To be His light in the darkness.
